The image says it all. A woman walking away with her head high. A man on the floor, finally realizing what he lost.
Carl Jung, one of the greatest psychologists in history, understood human behavior better than most. And he taught us something brutal but freeing: *People treat you exactly how you allow them to treat you.*
If someone doesn’t value you, begs you, manipulates you, or takes you for granted… it’s not because you’re not “enough.” It’s because you’ve been teaching them that your love, time, and energy are cheap.
So how do you flip that? How do you make sure they _never_ treat you this way again?
Jung would tell you it comes down to 2 things:
*1. Withdraw Your Energy Completely – The Power of Absence*
People only value what they can lose.
As long as you’re chasing, explaining, begging, and available 24/7, you’re telling them: "I’m here no matter how you treat me."
Jung called this becoming your own "whole self." When you stop pouring your energy into someone who disrespects you, 2 things happen:
1. *You get your power back.* All that anxiety, overthinking, and "why doesn’t he/she care" energy comes back to YOU.
2. *They feel the void.* Humans are wired to chase what pulls away. When your texts stop. When your warmth disappears. When you’re no longer their emotional punching bag… that’s when they feel it.
This isn’t about "playing games." This is about self-respect. Stop auditioning for a role in someone’s life who treats you like an option.
*2. Become Indifferent to Their Validation – The Power of Self-Worth*
This is the hardest one. And the most important one.
Jung said: _"Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakes."_
A man who doesn’t value you can only hurt you if you’re still looking to him for proof that you’re worthy. The moment you stop needing his approval, his "sorry," or his attention to feel okay… he loses all power over you.
How do you do this?
- *Rebuild yourself.* Go to the gym. Start that project. Hang out with people who _do_ value you.
- *Set boundaries and keep them.* "I don’t accept being spoken to like that." And then walk away. Like the woman in the picture.
- *Remember:* You are not here to be chosen. You are here to choose.
When you become indifferent to whether they stay or go, you become magnetic. Because nothing is more attractive than a person who values themselves.
*The Truth*
You don’t "punish" someone by being bitter. You punish them by healing, by walking away, and by becoming a version of yourself that would never tolerate that treatment again.
That’s when they look up from the floor and realize: "I lost someone rare."
And by then, it’s too late. Because you’re already gone.
They will never treat you this way again… because _you_ will never allow it again.

Want me to turn this into a script for a reel/TikTok too, or make a version specifically for relationships vs friendships/work?
