I found this in my girlfriend's bathroom. We've been staring at this for an hour and

He was lying there on the cold tiles of the bathroom, completely out of place – quiet, strange and a little disturbing

My girlfriend and I stared at it much longer than we should, unable to explain why this small, shapeless solid seemed so disturbing. It looked like a damp, organic mass, something that didn't fit into a clean, modern bathroom. The longer we looked at it, the less it made sense

We analyzed a lot of explanations, each more disturbing than the previous one. The parasite? A strange kind of mold? Something that fell off the walls? The more we speculated, the more the bathroom gave the impression of a place where something quietly went wrong.Even when we whispered to each other, some part of us knew that we were overreacting – but the anxiety did not give way. Two adults, completely stunned by an unidentified stain on the floor. It was a strange reminder of how fragile our sense of normalcy can be when something unknown appears in a place that we think is familiar to us.

We kept coming back to it, uncertain whether it was harmless or rather a cause for concern. My girlfriend has raised concerns about toxins or hidden damage. I tried to calm her down even though I felt uncomfortable myself. The real problem was uncertainty – our imagination gave us the worst-case scenarios.

When we finally found out what it was actually – a harmless but strange-looking slime, commonly found in humid places – the relief did not come immediately.

There was no threat, nothing serious. Still, this experience remained in my memory.

We scrubbed the tiles until they shone, we opened the windows and finally laughed at the excitement. But something of that moment stuck in our minds. It reminded us how easily unknown it can shake our confidence
